Often, if you are not aware of web design trends. Then, follow our blog on 10 Most Powerful Dynamic Web Design Trends For 2018. Well, Website designers are always trying to improve their skills and keep ahead of new and emerging web trends and technologies.

Website design was very difficult as it involved the HTML and another coding. One need a ton of experience and be enabled to build the website and get online. It was just like a laborious work or task and the website took days before it went live.

But, nowadays things are mostly different. You know, that today you can create a site within minutes and this is only possible through CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress, etc. Whereas, there are website builders that make the job easier for even new designers.

Thus, this is what we are elaborating here! Keep reading…

    Changes In Website Design

As we all know, website design concepts have changed significantly. But where they are going. And what will be they in the future? And what changes had they made?

Thus, the changes made in website design over the past years are as follows:

    1. Antiquity

In the 90s, there was no such thing as “high-speed” when it came to the internet. It was the dial-up modems, or that was nothing.

Therefore, sites from these days needed to be created for less than stellar connection speeds. They were highly comprised of the text, and what we now take for the granted as “layout design” which didn’t exist.

While later versions of the HTML permit for more complex design capabilities. Often, they were still extremely basic, consisting mainly of tags for the headers, links, and the paragraph.

Visual considerations such as the typography, navigation, and imagery were still things of not-too-distant future.

    2. The Middle Ages

In the middle ages of the website design were plagued by the on-site pages builders and spacer GIFs.

By the mid of the 90s, website design had evolved both in terms of the structure and the appearance. Designers start to use table-based web layouts to organize their web content.

Allowing for the greater flexibility and creativity of the website. Sites were still quite and content very heavy, but this content could now be divided into the columns, rows, and any other navigational component.

However, graphical design components also grew very fast in terms of popularity. Page hit counters, the animated text, and the dancing GIFs are just a few of graphical component that marks this period in web design.

    3. The Renaissance

Website design has had its fair share of re-imaginings, but here is one of the first occurred identification of Flash. Developed in 1996, but made popular a couple of the years later.

Flash opened up the world of design and changed those things which were not possible with basic HTML. It was the marriage of virtual graphics and interaction.

Whereas many of the design components of the previous time were still present, these were enhanced with new features such as color-changing navigation, tiled background images, neon colors, and the ever-popular splash pages.

Structure and navigation became important considerations and the design began to zero in terms of appearance and usability.

    4. The Enlightenment

The early 20s brought an increase of support for the CSS, which allowed for the separation of the content and the web design. This provided greater creative freedom to both web designers and the content developers.

Content could now be developed exclusively from the design. This made sites easy for maintaining, more flexible, and quicker to load.

However, a better understanding of the web color also saw the increase of white-space and decrease of garish colors, like neons. Links start to be attached to icons rather than web text, resolution.

And the pixilation became more important concerns. Even the considerations over the placement of content also grew. Overall, it was a period when usability began to become more important than other design components.

    5. HTML Is Now HTML5

That time there was not much structure in the way websites were designed. Which sometimes leads to many issues in the design aesthetics.

Since then, the HTML5 has re-structured the most standards set for creating website designs. Hence, it made the web design more user-friendly and engaged standard design.

    6. GIF Images Replaced By PNG & EPS

Due to web page loading time, big and high-quality images have recently become unused as a standard for the image sources.

While there was a paradigm shift to the PNG images at the beginning of this decade. Whereas, the dominant trend has been using GIFs images till. Very often, this has been a downside to the branding of businesses that have not fully utilized the visuals of their logo designs and other graphics options.

Well, the use of PNG images allows the broader range of imaging, but there is still a level of pixelation on images when they are viewed at the different resolutions.

EPS images based on vector imaging. However, there is no pixelation and distortion in this image format. And files are compressed to the level that can be loaded fast. This allows the companies, who have intricate details in their logo.

On top of all, the GIF format is seeing the comeback for use in the animations in recent years. The SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format is nowadays also visible. Often to represent the images, predominantly icon sets.

    7. Social Media Integration

You will know that in the past ten years social media has really taken off. As there were few names in social media in the early part of the 20s.

However, the advance of social media integration into website development did not really begin to hit its stride until the websites like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest became most popular.

A couple of this with the release of the iPhone and the Kindle. You have a formula for a new process of presenting web designs to the public or internet users. As social media has boomed, businesses have become aware that their survival depends upon the user’s engagement and social media integration. Websites that were dominantly textual in their website design have the transitioned to video, chat rooms, blogging, and the pictures.

    8. Organic Content Replaced Meta Tags

In a newly developed website use of HTML was a large part of the design. This isn’t to say that, you don’t need to know about the HTML to make any web page.

But in reality, programs like the MUSE have made coding skills more obsolete for web designers. Along with the coding, the meta tags and the metadata have become a thing of the past.

The Search Engines do still rely on the metadata while performing their searches, but <meta> tag just doesn’t have the same power as it used to. Instead, the organic content is driving SERP and search engines are looking for the data that has been established within and outside confines of the web page.

    9. Stylesheets Have Become More Popular

CSS has become increasingly famous over the past ten years yielding demand for web designers who work with the coders. This increase has a great deal to do with an increase in user interaction and ease of use that is demanded by the website users.

And while there are other scripts that are available, often, CSS sheets are most dominant. Website design is becoming more organized and loads better, as the code has become the cleaner, easy to understand, and even the functionality has increased.

    10. Search Engine Requires Mobile Friendly Website

Apart from all of the internal website design changes over the past ten years, there have also been outside influences to the way in which web pages are designed.

The Google, Yahoo, and Bing have dominated the way in which website pages are presented to the public or internet users, with Google leading the pack. Recently requirement for the pages to be mobile friendly in order to rank highly on the Search engine result page has sparked a change in the way in which many companies perform their website design and the branding.

Needless to say, there are still many website and UX designers who neglect these types of requirement. Talks of the Google social media methods or algorithms are also causing the stir amongst the website designers. As other search engines tend to follow the route that the Google sets.
